Ancient Egiptians-The Art of Flax Spinning

FAB'ric then and today is still being derived from plants. Yeah, eye know we all know this.  So, what's the purpose of this article? Well, for my lil' seamstresses and tailors guess how much fabric we discard that is if you're not one to donate your 'fibers' to organizations like Salvation Army?

National Geographic reports that it is a whooping 68 pounds a year and that's from every living person who's old enough to discard things. While on the other hand we only purchase about 10 pounds worth of clothing.  We are discarding more than we buy! Figure that one out. Mmmm . . . that's how many plants that are dying for nothing?

Okay, Okay.  Eye hear you saying that not everybody wants to do crafts and don't see themselves as being creative.  Discovering your creativity is easy, if you want too.  Especially if it will help our Mother/Father Earth with its healing processes. Being in harmony with nature is very essential to our very lives.  Yes, you know what part of my soul-YOU-shown (solution) is-- Let's recycle!

Let's turn those clothes we don't want into useful and beautiful things.  Let's help them reincarnate into sum.thing that will give us all joy.

Again, send me your pics of how you're recycling fabric (nice clear reasonably small ones) and eye will post them here.

However, for now what eye've done with clothing that was headed for the Salvation Army is featured above.  One of the pieces will be from a craft that a dear friend of mine who is also an Oklahoma City, OK premier artist-Njeri Haygood taught me how to do. And remember-Don't throw away those plants who lives were spun into fibers for our clothing.  Re-design them into sum.thing FAB'PA!--lous!
