Making PA!per

PA!per.  What would life be like without paper?  Hard to imagine now that it is part of our everyday lives.  Yes, it replaced wall writing for the most part.  However, eye am thankful that there are some cultures who still prefer to leave our legacies in stone. Give thanks!

Thanks to Janice Mae-"The Paper Bead Princess  JaniceMae.com," watching her create so many beautiful things from junk mail made me discover a love for pa'per that eye never knew eye had.  Now, eye search diligently on Youtube and Pinterest for PA'per Crafts.

Eye thought the best place for us to discover our love for PA'per, that is if you have a love for paper but didn't know (lol), would be with the Ancients.

Let's start with the oldest way historically record--The Ancient Egiptians (there is a historical reason why eye choose to use the letter 'i' instead of the letter 'y').

The video above will show us how the ancient egiptians did it and how we can spot fake papyrus.
Let's watch it and then go out and get some papyrus paper and recycle it into something even more beautiful for today's usage.  When you do email your pics (must be clear pics--small ones please) and eye will post them here.

Now, let's deal with some statistical stuff about PA'per.
Do we stop to really think about just how much of our garbage is pa'per and just how much we are discarding yearly?  Eye'm pretty sure that alot of it can be and is being recycled--especially from those of us who separate our recyclable stuff from what can not be recycled (ah huge thanks to those of us Hu do!)
Eye googled this question: How much waste do we discard yearly?
And just like on Jeopardy-lol
Google came back with various ansaars and eye chose an ansaar from the Wise Geeks
This picture is not the Wise Geeks themselves. However, these are the Super Nerds from Izismile

How Much Garbage Does a Person Create in One Year?
If you really want to know click the link above.  Let me tell you this, IT'S A LOT!
My daughter says eye'm always trying to find things to do with what she is discarding and food containers, etc.  She's right!  Eye've been a recycle artist for many years and the truth is, eye just hate throwing things away before reconsidering how it can be made useful again.

The whole point of this article is, is to get us all to start reconsidering what we're throwing with NU EYES OF CREATIVITY.

For example these were created with things on their way to the BIG DUMP YARD IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES.
